Heaven in a Dream

Earlier this week I had a dream, and I think I saw heaven.

At the beginning of the dream I was trapped in a cage on a high shelf, and my captors didn’t realize I could get out. They weren’t paying attention, and I wondered if I needed a bigger window to escape, one where I’d have more time get farther away before they noticed. I found the courage to escape out the back door, deciding that it was illogical to wait for a second opportunity.

In the dream I knew with 100% confidence that they would catch me. Sometimes in dreams you just know things for a fact, which is why I was surprised to get away. I ran quickly up the hill behind where I was imprisoned. It was covered in muted green grass, lumpy with moguls, and it was treeless. I eventually passed through the cloud line, finding myself overlooking a mountain village in the sky - a large green basin filled with waterfalls, clouds, and safe community. It couldn’t have felt more like heaven.
